A sanctified circuit of four sacred pilgrimages i.e. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath is called Char Dham. It is a pious journey which is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Goddess Ganga, Lord Shiva, and Lord Vishnu. During the peak season, the Char Dham Yatra is thronged by the pilgrims coming from various parts across the globe. Apart from its religious value, this journey also known for its difficult route. Time of Journey
The Char Dham Yatra is accessible only for six months i.e. April/May to October/November throughout the year. The region becomes unreachable during the other six months due to heavy snowfall. The doors of the shrines open on the particular dates. During the month of May, the region is crowded by the pilgrims and during June to August, the region witness heavy rainfall that makes the journey so much difficult.
